Overview

This position develops and implements environmental, health & safety programs and processes to ensure compliance with the Heico EHSS management system, applicable regulatory requirements and in support of the business strategic plan.  The EHS manager is a highly visible position requiring significant time in the manufacturing facility interacting with employees, supervisors and managers.  Requires the ability to develop and maintain relationships with all levels within and outside the organization from corporate EHS, platform/regional EHS, plant management, supervisors and hourly employees in the production areas.  The position may direct the work of other salary or hourly persons and/or consultants.

Responsibility Highlights

  • Maintain strong working relationships with the extended EHS support structure including corporate EHS, platform/regional EHS, and external resources.
  • Develop and maintain required facility EHS compliance programs and management systems.
  • Facilitates risk assessments and trend analysis to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.
  • Uses established EHS data processes and systems to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items and other pertinent information.
  • Supports the leadership team by analyzing EHS related data to develop actions, targets and objectives to continuously reduce risks to employees, environmental performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Facilitate and teach EHS incident investigation and root cause analysis. Participates and/or lead near miss/accident/unsafe act/condition investigations and development of corrective actions.
  • Manage the employee EHS training program.
  • Maintain the facility’s electronic EHS management
  • Manage the facility’s environmental permit and reporting requirements.
  • Manage the timely and accurate preparation of required EHS reports, both internal and external.

Required Qualifications

  • 4-year degree from an accredited institution in engineering, safety, environmental or related science preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable EHS laws and regulations
  • Strong team building and team-participation skills
  • Ability to both teach and learn
  • Superior organizational, analytical, problem solving, multi-tasking, written and verbal communications skills
  • Certification in an EHS related discipline and/or further education is a plus 
  • Familiarity with Gensuite is a plus
  • Strong computer skills are a must
