Job Description

DESIGN AND DOCUMENTATION OF OFF-ROAD MOBILE PRODUCTS
▪ Support engineers by performing relevant calculations and/or measurements on assemblies and steel fabricated components required for mobile equipment.
▪ Prepare, modify, and release drawings created in SolidWorks.
▪ Prepares change requests, requisitions, and parts lists.
▪ Structure/maintain bill of materials and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
▪ Follow the standards established in the Barko Engineering Standards Manual.
▪ Support engineers with machine and/or sub-system testing and validation.


PROVIDE PRODUCTION DOCUMENTATION FOR NEW PRODUCT
▪ Create new production drawings from solid model layouts within SolidWorks using the latest drafting standards.
▪ Assign part numbers for new parts.
▪ Take solid models from an engineering design level to production level models in SolidWorks.
▪ Create bill of materials for new product based on solid models.
▪ Create production release notices.

DESIGN SUPPORT FOR EXISTING PRODUCTS
▪ Implement cost savings suggestions.
▪ Initiate design or manufacturing process ideas that will reduce the cost of products.

PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR MANUFACTURING AND SALES
▪ Assist shop personnel interpret designs and drawings.
▪ Seek input from the shop to make designs easier to manufacture.
▪ Create dimensional layouts and technical specifications for use by sales.

Experience and Education:
▪ Experience:  2+ Years of Experience preferred
▪ Education: Technical College diploma or related experience in design fundamentals including but not limited to: Mathematics, Drafting, and Shop Processes.
▪ Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communication.
▪ Technology: Strong working knowledge of MS Office, SolidWorks, PDM software and ERP/MRP software preferred. General knowledge of AutoCAD, DraftSight, Parker IQAN, and Zuken E3 preferred.


Supervisory Responsibility - This position has no direct reports.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work - This is a full-time position. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Travel – No travel expected for this position.


Work Environment - The position operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, iPads, phones, copiers and filing cabinets. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and moving mechanical parts.
