Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Record Review - Works from contract requirement written and oral instructions and specifications to compile quality records to develop data packages. Works to procedural requirements, assuring all guidelines are conformed to, whether related to production of hardware or performance of duties to meet requirements.
  2. Documentation - Reviews documentation per requirements and procedures to ensure the completeness of work, and completes all documentation. Perform coordination and follow-up necessary to resolve any deficiencies noted during documentation review, which involves contacts with personnel in operations production control and with cognizant quality assurance personnel.
  3. Communication - Interfaces within the department, with other departments and shifts to keep communication lines open and to provide assistance in locating records for review.
  4. Safety/Housekeeping - Required to work at all times in a manner that will not endanger himself; other employees or company property. Keeps work-place neat and orderly, meeting cleanliness requirements.
  5. Use of Work Time - Uses working time effectively and efficiently in order to be as productive as possible.
  6. Creativity - Displays broad knowledge and use of software, procedures and records to provide a continuing improvement of the quality system at Wakefield-Vette.
  7. Performs all functions in accordance with ISO 9001 specifications.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Background

Supervision

Provides no direct supervision but will be required to provide technical direction to a few employees where immediate supervision is required only part of the time with rest of time spent performing work of a similar nature.

Mental Application

Decision making ability increases with experience and knowledge of specific programs.

Responsibilities

Probable errors in judgment may be serious involving acceptance of ship router that is incomplete or developing data packages that are not acceptable to customer. This could delay n customer acceptance of hardware and contract end items resulting in negative customer relations well as profitability on program.

Contacts/Internal and Public

Significant contact internally with all levels of employees. Primarily internal, some contact with customer as required.

Working Conditions

Usual office conditions with occasional lifting and handling of boxes of files of medium or heavy weight with assistance if required.

Education

Required:        A high school diploma or equivalent. Must have knowledge of industry and government documentation requirements for contracts. Requires a through understanding of Quality practices and record retention training.

Preferred:        Two years college training in a documentation control curriculum.            

Abilities

Required:        Normal attention required but may require concentrated attention for extended periods of time to plan and lay out filing systems and contract review. Must have good personal skills.

Reasonable Accommodations
