Job Description

SUMMARY:

Reporting to Value Stream Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer will assist with costing new items for quotes while being a technical interface for our customers. They will also create Bills of Materials (BOM), routings for new products and assist with process and design improvements. The Manufacturing engineer is a key member of our engineering team with a need for a laser focus as it relates to customer service, cost management and technical assistance within our manufacturing group.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists sales in generating quotes.
  • Interfaces with customers on technical questions and other relative items.
  • Gathers costs for off the shelf items and assembly times.
  • Confers with CNC programmers to determine run times.
  • Gathers raw material costs from outside vendors.
  • Organizes and creates documentation necessary for new applications, including BOM, job instructions and job routers.
  • Creates Solidworks drawings for various products.
  • Participates in the new product introduction review process to ensure manufacturing and quality process utilized meet customer expectations.
  • Interprets customer specifications/blueprints associated with new and existing applications.
  • Creates process and design improvements based on knowledge of the industry and manufacturing processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or similar engineering discipline required.
  • 1-3 years project engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • A positive, go-getter attitude; willingness to be on the shop floor and work with key engineering and manufacturing leaders on design, process, and engineering projects.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Technical skills to include Solid works, MS Office 365.
  • Technically savvy. (Remove, already stated above)
  • Excellent communication skills, with a customer centric attitude and demeanor.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Hands on and assist/support shop floor when needed.
