Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering leadership support and project management for plant equipment and process improvements. Provide status reports to management regularly.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to design/drafters on manufacturing related projects.
  • Responsible for designing, planning, justifying and implementing improvements in methods, processes, equipment, tools, fixtures, and material handling devices.
  • Will be an integral part of the team responsible for the development and introduction of new/revised products to be produced for Kinedyne Corporation.
  • Provide technical assistance to all Kinedyne Corporation facilities in the area of manufacturing equipment and processes as needed.
  • Lead in the troubleshooting of production issues related to the manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Continuously review and assess existing products and manufacturing methods for opportunities for productivity and process improvement.
  • Analyze costs,benefits of equipment and process improvements based on labor efficiency gains improvement cost.
  • Continuously look for opportunities for overall cost reduction without decreasing quality of finished product.
  • Responsible of developing, maintaining and uphold engineering standards, specifications, and drawings.
  • Ensure that all methods, equipment's, dies, fixturing and instructions are safe for employees using them and that these items meet OSHA standards.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Enterprise Resource Systems, Kaizen, Total Quality Management, and Just-In-Time (JIT) Scheduling.
  • Strong knowledge of tooling, fixture design, die design, automation, and machine design principles.
  • Good organizational skills with strong project management and reporting experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understand and use of engineering principles, including stress and structural analysis of products manufactured from various metallic and plastic materials.
  • Proficient in Solid Modeling, drafting with CAD tools and use of MS Office tools for report generation.
  • Project Management software experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing methods including punch and die designs, assembly principles and metal working.
  • Have the ability to utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate mechanical components.
