POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and Repair Marine and Heavy Civil Contractor’s equipment fleet.
  • Manage preventative maintenance program for entire equipment fleet, including land-based, floating cranes, and other assets.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair lattice boom crawler (friction and/or hydraulic) cranes.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot any malfunctions to equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance, complete repairs, and test equipment as needed (i.e., hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems, and components).
  • Manage and maintain assigned tools and equipment.
  • Maintain and follow driving guidelines for assigned company vehicles.
  • Complete all paperwork thoroughly and in a timely fashion.
  • Understand and comply with all Safety and Environmental requirements.
  • Perform all other duties as required by the Supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a journeyman level mechanic with a minimum of five (5) years of construction crane and heavy equipment repair and maintenance experience.
  • Five (5) years of crane and winch repair experience (Manitowoc and American repair experience desired).
  • Five (5) years of experience in engine repairs (Caterpillar, Cummins, John Deere, Detroit Diesel, etc.).
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred NCCCO certification, OSHA Certified Mobile Crane Inspector, OSHA Assembly/Disassembly Director certification.
  • Must have strong mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Must be able to use technical equipment manuals in either digital or paper format to troubleshoot, order parts and perform repairs.
  • Must have computer skills and experience with computer diagnostics of diesel and gas engines.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems preferred.
  • Must have welding skills associated with equipment repairs.
