Job Description

Responsible for organizing work for employees in work group. Improve efficiencies by showing employees easier and better ways to produce parts. Use computer to look up blue prints, job orders and track production. Maintain high production rates throughout the work group and be able to meet deadlines.  Ensure employees are entering data correctly for production on the ERP system.

Promote a positive work environment. Complete assigned work on time.

Must know and follow all plant, departmental and job safety rules.

Must know, understand and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of and follow all applicable safe operating procedures and rules including housekeeping requirements.

Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements necessary for this skill or job area

Train new employees on the operational procedures of each new job to be run. Show the employee the proper techniques for doing their job, maintaining good production rates, and how to complete production entries using scanner. Train employees how to look for defects in parts and separate those from the good parts. Train employees on the use of proper protective equipment and safe operation of all machinery and tools.  Allow employees to job shadow by demonstrating the job, and allow new employee to watch how the job should be done.

Continuously perform visual inspection on parts, reject obvious pieces with defects. Refer repeated defects to supervisor or Quality Assurance Manager for solution.  Keep workstations clean and orderly.

Operate machinery to complete primary or secondary operations. Perform all work/tasks within the department as needed in support of the production schedule. Complete assigned work on time. Implement lean methodologies within the work group such as 5S, visual management, one-piece flow, SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies), etc.

As needed perform duties as assigned. Be able to work overtime as needed including during the week and Saturdays in order to meet customer deadlines.

Perform simple set ups as needed referring difficult set ups to Setup personnel.
