Job Description

  • Assist Business Development Managers as liaison to expedite customer and program requirements.
  • Provide timely responses utilizing the MAPICS system for customer inquiries regarding product selection, placement of orders, technical assistance, catalogs, samples, quotations and complaints. Expedite requests for literature, quotations, and orders. Analyze individual customer needs and take appropriate action to secure order.
  • Follow up on standard line quotes issued through the MAPICS system by customer service personnel.
  • Supply prospect with accurate price and delivery quotes. Proficiently prepare formal quotes using updated pricing tools. Track orders and quotes to completion. Work with Estimation Team when required.
  • Accurately and proficiently process customer orders, providing quick turnaround. Set up new orders and new customers, using correct payment terms, shipping instructions, salesman numbers, and etc.
  • Provide territory assistance as required to meet customer requests. Provide necessary follow-up and initiate correspondence when needed.
  • Secure business as an account rep – act as an effective liaison between internal departments and customer. Courteously call customers to notify them of COD order ready to ship and past due balances when servicing their account.
  • Connect with inactive OEMs to determine current status, reason for transitioning away, and potential for return. Create and provide status results weekly.
  • Assist management with special projects as needed.

Job Requirements    

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Skills & Relevant Work Experience

  • Needs the ability to quote standard part prices and lead times, must obtain approval for any quotes over 20,000 pieces, special orders and/or customer parts. Decisions involve the ability to communicate with quality manager to obtain approval before initiating any RMA- return authorizations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, faxes, scanner, and copiers.
  • Strong background in Sales, Customer Services and/or Telemarketing.
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral and writing skills.
  • Background in manufacturing, reading and interpretation of blueprints, and thread sizing is a plus. 
  • Strong mathematical reasoning skills and a Quick thinker under pressure.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to handle difficult people in a professional manner. 
  • Must enjoy working on telephone and dealing with a wide range of customer personalities.
  • Requires proficient data entry skills to accurately input customer orders, process quotes, sample requests, and correspondence.
