SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Manager will plan, direct, and execute all manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives. Additionally, they will provide leadership and guidance to the organization in support of the company's vision and goals. This is a high-visibility role within our organization that reports directly to the Plant Manager.

DESCRIPTION:

  • Direct and oversee various manufacturing departments, respective managers and leads to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources to meet company safety, on-time delivery, quality, and profitability goals.
  • Partner with EH&S leadership to enforce and cascade a ‘work safe’ culture throughout the plant.
  • Liaise with Human Resources leadership to ensure Legal compliance and corporate-driven training objectives are met.
  • Develop and communicate needs for staffing labor plan adjustments to meet production targets.
  • Partner with other department heads (Sales & Engineering, Quality, NPI, etc) on plant-wide projects and other company initiatives.
  • Embrace 5S methodologies in support of lean, world-class facility standards.
  • Interface with customers and executive leadership team during plant tours, strategic planning events, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Mechanical engineering, advanced degree preferred.
  • 10-15 years in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; CNC Fabrication Operations and/or machining environment experience strongly preferred.
  • Formal Lean/5S Training, certification.
  • A proven track record of creating systems and processes that track and optimize productivity, metrics, and performance targets to ensure continuous improvement
  • Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively with staff at all levels and to motivate teams.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures and pivoting as needed to change direction in support of company objectives and goals.
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop and deliver presentations to the highest level of an organization.
  • Leadership qualities and ability to motivate and mentor others.
  • A continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong technical capabilities with strong MS office skill sets and MS Dynamics or other Oracle-based ERP program is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of the defense industry and experience in a NIST/ITAR-certified environment.
