The Materials Supply Chain Supervisor position will lead optimization initiatives and process improvement efforts throughout the Pettibone supply chain function. The role will involve leading projects and driving change in an increasing complex global supply chain using lean supply chain principles and working in a collaborative setting with suppliers and customers to implement supply chain solutions. This role provides cross-functional support across supply chain areas including but not limited to Warehouse Operations, Production, After Market, Finance, and Engineering. Overall, this role will be integral in moving the organization forward by providing improvements, and risk mitigation across the supply chain network.

- Provide leadership for the implementation of supply chain solutions
- Lead / participate in start-up programs working with key suppliers to ensure capability and capacity for new program launch and or fluctuations in forecast.
- Perform value stream and capacity analysis at supplier locations and recommend changes in processes/production to reduce lead time and waste
- Collaborate with Supply Chain team in the analysis and design of supply chain strategies; including but not limited to programs that optimize inventory levels, provide reduced lead time, buffer stock, addition of alternate manufacturers, and dampening forecast variability
- Identify and act upon potential cost reduction through Value Improvement / Value Engineering
- Collaborate with Engineering to identify alternate components to support quality, delivery and cost reduction initiatives.
- Champions new simplification projects and programs driven by soliciting best practice feedback
- Monitor supplier delivery performance
- Perform supplier assessments to identify and mitigate risks with new and existing suppliers
- Provide onsite supplier support to ensure continuity or recovery of supply
Job Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree. Prefer a degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering
- 3 years of supply chain experience, prefer experience in a manufacturing setting
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing tools and concepts
- Demonstrated understanding of business practices with experience in supplier relations, logistics, warehousing, and lean supply chain practices
- Experience in import / export compliance or willingness to learn
