Job Description

  

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Maintains the ISO system. Prepare/update policy manual, provide necessary training, and maintain all procedures related to audits and necessary ISO activities.
  • Ensures ISO standards are followed, provides continuous improvement and corrective action. Develop training materials that measure and support the ISO 9001 requirements. Provide QA training for all departments plant wide.
  • Manage internal audit/quality assurance by providing direction, guidance and counseling on related quality policies and new techniques. Monitor and train internal audit/quality assurance personnel in the performance of timely, effective quality audits.
  • Prepare corrective actions and follow thru on implementation of corrections and process modifications using root cause analysis tools such as 8D and Fishbone diagram.
  • Perform Internal Audits.
    • Analyze first piece part. Perform necessary inspection to assure Engineering specifications are being met. Address non-conformities from previous internal audits and customer specifications. Follow up on corrective action requests.
  • Prepare periodic reports along with cost of quality reporting.
  • Prepare ISIR/PPAP/FMEA documentation as required.

 

Job Requirements   

 

Education

  • BA in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field.

Skills & Relevant Work Experience

  • 2 – 5 years of prior experience as a Quality Manager within ISO registered company.
  • 2 – 5 years of plastics experience preferred: knowledge of molding process, Thermoset and Thermoplastic, finishing operations and tooling. Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • ISO internal auditor experience
  • Proven track record in development of quality and training programs
  • Certified Quality Engineer preferred
  • Six Sigma BB or GB certified preferred.
  • Software skills: PC based, Microsoft Office, Excel spreadsheets
  • Strong oral and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment
  • ISIR/PPAP/FMEA documentation preparation knowledge
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing preferred
  • Knowledge of Metrology
  • Experience as a manager of people.
