Job Description

JOB PURPOSE: Provide leadership and coordination of company sales for the Decking Systems market segment (including, but not limited to, the following product lines: Kaptive Beam, K1 and K2 Systems, Bridge Trak, and Portable Decking systems). In conjunction with the VP-Sales and Marketing, develop and implement the sales, pricing, and marketing strategy with the goal of developing and growing the market segment. Develop strategically aligned annual sales goals for accounts and existing and new products.

This position works remotely and travels routinely.


• Develop a written business plan for the company’s Decking Systems product lines to assess the market segment potential, growth opportunities, challenges, and strategies to successfully achieve targets and identify required resources and investments.
• Coordinate company sales, pricing, and marketing functions for the Decking Systems market segment.
• Research and develop strategies and plans which identify marketing opportunities and new project development. Present to the VP-Sales and Marketing and other company leaders as requested.
• Continually analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.
• Assist in the development of sales and marketing budgets for the Decking Systems market segment.
• Work with the VP-Sales and Marketing to establish and implement short and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures for sales and pricing.
• Contribute to the planning and development of Decking Systems marketing and promotional materials.
• Represent Kinedyne at national trade shows and/or business meetings. Assist with the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs using the Marketing Department as a resource.
• Increase fleet sales to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) and distributors by collaborating with the company’s Account Executives (AE’s).
• Work closely with Customer Service and Pricing Administrator to ensure all orders are priced accurately as well as processed and shipped within designated time frames.
• Work closely with sister companies Wakefield-Vette and NKL (internal suppliers) to assist with forecasting, order processing, and fulfillment questions.
• Coordinate meetings with Engineering and customers to answer product questions.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Finance, Marketing, Customer Service, the VP-Sales and Marketing, and others to ensure all marketing materials are accurate and orders are processed correctly.
• Participate in the development of new product proposals.
• Collaborate with Engineering on product improvements and new designs using the Kinedyne product development process.
• Facilitate Decking Systems training for AE’s and distributors.
• Coordinate with OEM’s, distributors, and AE’s regarding the proper installation of Decking products.
• Communicate regularly with the VP-Sales and Marketing regarding updates, status of current projects, and any challenges.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.
• Submit, properly and timely, all customer contact reports, expense reports, mileage reports, and all other administrative requirements.
• Develop and present PowerPoint presentations.
• Present and collaborate virtually using Microsoft Teams.


• Significant travel of 50% or more including driving, flying, and overnight travel. Some weekends required.
• Work from home office on a routine basis.
• Amount of travel is dependent on business and environmental conditions. Flexibility is required to transition from traveling to periods of time when goals and objectives must be met virtually and through other means, as conditions warrant.

• Extensive travel, long car rides, and air travel. Long hours at trade shows and customer functions. Extended computer use (sitting, typing, and viewing screen).


• Competent computer skills. Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and LinkedIn.
• Knowledge of ERP systems with knowledge of Microsoft AX and D365 preferred.
• Knowledge of developing and executing strategic sales plans.
• Knowledge of working with contract/agreement-based relationships and developing long-lasting relationships with customers and clients.


• College degree required, preferably with a focus on business, sales, or marketing.
• In lieu of a college degree, additional equivalent experience and education may be considered.


• At least ten years of sales experience, with three years in a sales position which required a minimum of 50% travel.
• Experience in sales management strongly preferred.
• Experience negotiating customer contracts and agreements.
• Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts.
• A combination of years of experience, advanced education, and industry-specific training and experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
