The Company

PETTIBONE TRAVERSE LIFT (PTL), LLC, an affiliate of the Heico Companies, manufactures versatile material handling equipment for the construction, oil and gas, and railroad industries. PTL is an affiliate of The Heico Companies, a family-owned business and parent holding company for a diverse portfolio of manufacturing, construction, and industrial services businesses. 

The Position

The Product Manager is responsible for product strategy and planning, product development, product introductions, lifecycle management, and overall product profitability. The position requires strong working relationships with all functional areas of the company.  The position requires someone with in depth knowledge of heavy equipment, or industrial products. This is an onsite position at our Baraga, MI plant.

 

Key Performance Areas

Drives Business Results –

 

  • Establish strong relationships with internal teammates and external customers.
  • Provide strong competitive analysis and industry specific trends.
  • Define the product strategy and strategic roadmap for all product categories.
  • Indirectly lead product development and product improvement initiatives.
  • Establish product pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals; monitor and manage expected gross margins on an ongoing basis with corrective pricing actions as necessary.
  • Work with the Marketing team on product launches to Sales and customers.
  • Attend key industry events (i.e., industry tradeshows) within Nort America and globally.

 

Job Requirements

Experience and Education:

  • Experience: 3+ years experience as a Product Manager or in a technical role (i.e., Engineering, Service) within an industrial manufacturing company.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree; MBA preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization, analytic and leadership skills.
  • Technology:  General knowledge of MS Outlook.

Other Requirements:

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing preferred
  • REQUIRES Experience in a manufacturing environment; in depth knowledge of heavy equipment, industrial  products and assembly processes.
  • Experience with change management principles preferred
  • Highly motivated, pro-active, self-starter.

Supervisory Responsibility – This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work - This is a full-time position. Work hours are Monday thru Friday.

 

Travel – Moderate travel (i.e., 20%) is expected for this position—including global travel.
