Bo-Mac Contractors, LTD in theBeaumont, Texasarea is offering challenging and exciting career opportunities for an Assistant Purchasing Agent.The Assistant Purchasing Agent is responsible for assisting the procurement of and the coordination of the delivery of equipment, material and supplies for the various operations of the Company in a timely and cost efficient manner.

The Assistant Purchasing Agent position can be very busy and requires strong organizational skills and the ability to meet multiple deadlines. Because this position must exchange information with internal and external contacts on a daily basis, good verbal and written communication skills are extremely important.We utilize the latest information technology and this position will require the skills to maximize the effectiveness of these devices. This position is assigned to an office environment where sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time is required. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds is required as well.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing new techniques to expedite, compliment or enhance company results.
  • Assists in creating, composing and editing written materials.
  • Operate basic office equipment.
  • Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Six (6) months or more of previous purchasing experience in a high volume environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse employee/vendor base.
  • Intermediate PC skills with experience using Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
