Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

  • Review and analyze spend data and create a clear, written sourcing strategy for each spend category.
  • Maintain a list of projects and action items that support the strategy. Provide leadership and coordinate completion of tasks with Quality, Planning and Engineering using the defined process.
  • Create, review, and execute contracts and supply agreements.
  • Accurately manage cost data in the ERP system.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and risks in the supply chain regarding quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Hold RFQs and select best suppliers to support overall company business goals.
  • Evaluate quotations and place Purchase Orders to our suppliers and subcontractors for products and services in a timely manner.
  • Be the main point of contact for maintaining productive relationships with strategic suppliers within your responsibility.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews using supplier scorecards.
  • Proactively track critical orders and follow-up on open orders. Expedite when needed.
  • Work with Planners to efficiently place or modify purchase orders to meet demand.
  • Reconcile and rectify all non-conformances with suppliers while maintaining the original due dates or acceptable recovery dates. Communicate delivery delays to key business partners.
  • Ensure all product documentation is reviewed and accurate.
  • Maintain organized records for competitive cost analysis of key items and track history of product cost over time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Strong Negotiation skills to reduce costs and delivery times with suppliers.

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks while under pressure to meet customer requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings desired.
  • Be proficient with MRP and have a good understanding of BOM’s.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management Concepts and understanding of global logistics and customer requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Excel, Word, and AX.
