Job Description

Position Summary:

A highly skilled and energetic Quality Supervisor with a background in Quality Engineering, Product Development, and maintenance of quality standards aligned with AS9100.

 Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

  • Provide effective leadership and motivation to staff.
  • Provide strategic direction within the Quality Department that supports both Aircraft and Fitting Business Units
  • Assist with maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS)- supporting: Sales, Design, Purchasing & Operations
  • Enforce processes in place that ensure we continue to meet the current and future needs of the business
  • Sustain SMART specific metrics that are aligned with the Quality objectives of the organization
  • Implement risk base processes to mitigate quality issues while reducing quality oversight
  • Support internal, customer and 3rd party audits, including the FAA and CASE
  • Assist operations on countermeasures for manufacturing issues/challenges
  • Drive inspection requirements, acceptance limits and inspection plans to ensure alignment and compliance with customer/regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for accomplishing daily goals and objectives and establishing a culture of positive employee relations while ensuring all processes, best practices, and policies are adhered to
  • Provides leadership to improve quality and efficiency
  • Coordinate inspection resources to support operations in all facets
  • Reviews all data obtained during quality activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures
  • Support best practices and technologies used to improve quality and reduce waste / costs
  • Works cooperatively with others to meet goals, solve problems or suggest improvements. Has and applies proficient skills and knowledge for all functions within the department.

 Knowledge/Skills: 

  • Ability to problem solve quality related issues and provide decision making methods to tackle complex product/process quality issues
  • Expert experience of DFSS, DMAIC, RCCA, 8D, 5Why and APQP tools preferred.
  • FAR145 Repair Station, a Plus!
  • Succinct behavior with a bias for action
  • Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Experience working with quality systems; e.g. AS9100, ISO9001, FAA FAR Regulations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications: Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to build relationships and influence positive change within the organization
  • A solid track record within the field of Quality
  • Certified Lead Auditor AS9100D is a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented, dependable, and able to do routine work
  • Five or more years of mail or general office experience
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to successfully complete an extensive government background check
  • US Citizenship

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 10+ years of hands-on experience in a lean manufacturing environment.  Aerospace Industry experience is a plus.
