Job Description

The Team Lead will assist the Production Supervisor with the daily activities of the department. This position is a working Team Lead position which is still responsible for meeting specific production goals as an individual contributor of the team.
Responsibilities:
Assist with planning, coordinating, and reviewing processes to ensure that products are manufactured in accordance with all engineering, quality, and safety standards.
Communicate issues with products and personnel to the Production Supervisor.
Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the department.
Monitor supplies (boxes, pallets, thread, etc.)
Ensure inventory transactions are properly recorded from warehouse to production area.
Ensure production scrap is captured and properly disposed.
Communicate daily with the Production Supervisor on orders being completed or delayed.
Promotes good safety practices and adherence to company safety policies and procedures within the department.
Responsible for department orientation and training of permanent and temporary employees.
Attend all necessary training seminars as requested.
Assist with opening/securing the production area at the beginning or end of shift.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to perform math skills to include counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Must be able to think independently. Ability to interpret and correspond to company policies and procedures. Must have ability to work effectively, efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced work environment. Must have ability to function with minimal supervision.
Must have personal integrity, ability to address multi-task work assignments, ability to communicate positively and effectively, and the ability to work in a positive manner to project a positive and professional image to those outside of the company, management staff, co-workers, and all other individuals and departments within the company.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have ability to have and maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Must have competent keyboarding skills. Able to prepare appropriate e-mail communication. Understanding of manufacturing terms and methods. First Aid Certified. Must be well-versed in all production tasks in the department in order to provide support to cover absenteeism as well as the training of new employees or new product. Must have worked in manufacturing environment for 1-3 years preferred.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED
