This is a critical role with high visibility and tasked with safeguarding product quality while meeting company and regulatory standards. This role has responsibility for a continuous quality improvement program that includes quality control and assurance while meeting or exceeding all quality standards set forth by our valued customer base. This individual will be expected to embrace and exhibit our culture of honesty, integrity, and good corporate citizenship. This role reports to the Director, Quality Assurance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strive toward a culture of proactive safety.
- Support compliance in all aspects of AS9100 Quality Management System.
- Participate in plant move initiatives and support engineering and management team in meeting key plant move milestones such as FAI and audits.
- Drive efforts to achieve and improve customer satisfaction.
- Work in conjunction with Purchasing to qualify new vendors, solve vendor quality concerns and continuously improve/build Company/vendor relationships.
- Review existing process and product specification to identify the need for improvement or upgrade.
- Partner with other department team members to drive Continuous Improvement efforts in product quality/performance and process optimization.
- Supply key metrics and reporting data when requested by Plant leadership.
- Form trustworthy and effective relationships with internal and external customers to ensure awareness and alignment of customer goals and the company's mission.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS or BA in Management, Administration or Engineering.
- 5-10 years experience in a dynamic, results driven and customer focused organization preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Experience with a plant or facility move and commissioning of equipment.
- High level of understanding with industry standards, AS9100 Quality Management System, and NADCAP accreditation preferred.
- Experience with APQP/PAA and Net-Inspect preferred.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control, MiniTab or JMD preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma & other Continuous Improvement tools preferred.
- ITAR, and NIST experience.
- Metrology and GD&T.
- Excellent MS Office skill sets with the capabilities of creating complex reports and the ability to present in front of peers and executives.
