Production Control Planner 2
The Position (Summary):
The Production Control Planner 2 will be responsible for improving quality, eliminating waste, and reducing inventory costs while demonstrating a passionate pursuit of continuous improvement throughout the company. The Production Control Planner 2 position has a primary focus on the business’s capital orders and coordinating international suppliers.
Minimum Essential Requirements:
- Monitor MRP runs daily to update Supply Chain Team’s workbench
- Provide guidance, direction and prioritization to supply chain team
- Lead weekly capital planning/sourcing meeting, providing updates to assembly supervisor and project manager
- Collaborate with Assembly Supervisor and Project Manager on capital project schedule, plan, and prioritization
- Attend all required “Walk-Thru” production meetings. Provide updates on any supply chain issues and report supply chain issues back to supply chain team
- Complete a daily review of new sales order lines entered from previous day, provide daily report to sales and supply chain highlighting any change requests or orders that require special attention
- Read and understand detailed machining prints, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, assembly prints, and bills of materials
- Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation assigned according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times
- Maintain Routings for products in area of responsibility
- Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data
- Confer with department supervisors to determine status of orders
- Expedite operations that are causing a delay in schedules
- Responsible for updating the appropriate Item Master Fields to support Engineering Changes, R&D, New Releases, and Drawing Updates
- Monitor Engineering Change Notice releases and maintain work order bills of materials as required
- Generate and issue ECN part disposition status to each system
- Prepare list of required materials when needed
- Prepare various production reports for capital orders
- Liaison with international buyer, international sourcing teams, and international suppliers
- Coordinate international inbound shipments with logistics supervisor
- Release production orders for capital projects to meet assembly launch date and customer’s due dates
- Provide support for Production Control Planner 1 as required
Preferred Key Requirements:
- Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency measurements
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent understanding of Material Requirements Planning (ERP/MRP) and Capacity Planning
- Microsoft Power Platform (BI, Automate, Apps) is desired
- APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus
- Lean/6S & 6 Sigma Training/Certification is a plus
Experience and Education:
- Experience: 5-7 years’ experience in Master Scheduling and Inventory Control, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Education: Technical Degree, advanced degree or equivalent combined with relevant job specific experience. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, or related is preferred
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communication
Technology:
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel)
- ERP/MRP (Microsoft D365) and Business Intelligence desired
- Position will require daily utilization of Microsoft Teams, D365, and Microsoft Office Suite
