Quality Director

The Director of Quality Assurance is a critical, high visibility role tasked with safeguarding product quality while meeting company and regulatory standards and has responsibility for a continuous quality improvement program that includes quality control and assurance while meeting or exceeding all quality standards set forth by our valued customer base. This leader will be expected to embrace and exhibit our culture of honesty, integrity, and good corporate citizenship. This role directs the quality team and initiatives for two C/A Design locations, Raleigh, NC and Exeter, NH and reports to the President.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strive toward a culture of proactive safety.

  • Partner with the Site Leadership Team, Technology team, and the Plant Manager at each location in executing the strategic goals & key metrics of the organization.
  • Drive compliance and improvement in all aspects of our AS9100 Quality Management System.
  • With a laser focus on customer satisfaction, implement and drive Quality focused initiatives to produce positive results.
  • Work in conjunction with Purchasing to qualify new vendors, solve vendor quality concerns and continuously improve/build Company/vendor relationships. 
  • Review existing process and product specifications to identify the need for improvement or process upgrades.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement efforts in product quality/performance and process optimization.
  • Through positive influence and mentorship, supervise and lead technicians, inspectors, Quality Engineers, and other team members to maximize individual performance and to leverage team members expertise for the organizations benefit.
  • In support of continuous learning and improvement: plan, promote, and organize training activities related to quality and reliability.
  • Supply key metrics and reporting data to make sound businesses and organizational decisions.
  • Form trustworthy and effective relationships across all layers of the organization to ensure awareness and alignment of customer goals and the company's mission.
  • Deploy quality personnel efficiently to support supplier audits, process improvements, and compliance activities.
  • Promote a winning culture of quality excellence throughout the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS or BA in Engineering or technically relevant program. Advanced degree and certifications, highly desirable.
  • 15-20 years management/supervisory experience in a dynamic, results driven and customer focused organization in the aerospace industry.
  • Multiple location experience.
  • AS9100 Quality Management System, and NADCAP accreditation experience required.
  • Excellent Metrology and GD&T skill sets.
  • ITAR, and NIST experience.
  • SR level MS Office skills with the capability to create complex reports & presentations. Ability to present in front of peers and executives with a high degree of professionalism and tact.
  • Extensive and in-depth knowledge of methods, processes, equipment, and techniques in the Supplier Quality area, particularly those which meet the requirements of our industry.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities: a director who has the ability to mentor and nurture personnel while driving and producing top notch results from members.
  • A spirited teammate who collaborates and can see the big picture.
