Fitter Welder
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Grade 12 or equivalent
Welder Trade Certification
Knowledge of Welding & Fabrication Shop Practice
Experience: 3 years Fabrication and Welding Shop related experience
Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday
Specific Skill, Ability and Knowledge:
- Capable to operate safely all Fab Shop welding equipment and power tools.
- Use, read and take measurements with all common fabrication shop metric and imperial measuring tools, (e.g. tape, protractor, square, etc.).
- Capable to lay out work from drawing and sketch dimensions.
- Read and understand blue prints and welding symbols.
- Produce quality weldments to drawing dimensions and specifications.
- Work to established labour standards.
- Capable to receive instruction and be trained in new methods and welding practices.
- Know, understand and follow safe fabrication shop material handling and working practices at all times.
- Be able to be trained on safe operation of crane and lift truck.
- Must be able to handle a wide variety of materials prior to and during fabricating process.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and possess problem solving skills.
- Adhere to fabrication shop ISO work instructions and procedures.
- Able to pass an in-house welding and fitting test.
