Mechanical Engineer
Position Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer should have a passion for innovation; they will be responsible for maintaining drawings on existing parts and contributing to exciting new product design. The expectation of Ancra Cargo employees is to demonstrate Ancra Cargo’s core values, and to foster a positive culture through interactions with co-workers and guests.
Key Responsibilities and Priorities:
- Safety is our number one priority. This role will promote safety culture through safety toolbox talks, safety committee participation, and positive reinforcement programs.
- Produce 3D models and drawings
- Assist in the design and development of new products
- Perform basic engineering calculations
- Manage product data in our ERP system
- Help prototype and validate products
Position Consults with: This position will work with Ancra Cargo Operations, Safety, and Engineering personnel at all sites, as well as with some suppliers.
Years of Experience and Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or engineering technology is preferred or 3-5 years’ experience with an associate’s degree.
Skills, Specialized Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic engineering principles & documentation control
- Experience using CAD software is required. SolidWorks & DraftSight experience is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft D365 F&O or Dynamics AX 2012 ERP systems is a plus
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
Certification Requirements: - Lean or Six Sigma training and certification preferred but not required.
Working Conditions/Travel Requirements: Travel is less than 10%
Normal manufacturing environments should be expected. Use of safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection will be required.
