Mechanical Designer
The Intermediate Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in designing and developing mechanical components and systems. The role involves assisting in product development, creating detailed engineering documentation, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and development of mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Prepare 3D models, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
- Support project planning.
- Conduct analysis of components and systems, including basic FEA.
- Coordinate with suppliers and participate in prototype testing and validation.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure designs meet production requirements.
- Provide technical support to other departments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and project coordination in custom equipment or heavy machinery.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Basic understanding of FEA and ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience with mechanical design, including gears, drives, and hydraulics, is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of materials.
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA and GD&T is preferred.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, suppliers, and team members.
