Mechanical Designer

The Intermediate Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in designing and developing mechanical components and systems. The role involves assisting in product development, creating detailed engineering documentation, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and development of mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Prepare 3D models, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
• Support project planning.
• Conduct analysis of components and systems, including basic FEA.
• Coordinate with suppliers and participate in prototype testing and validation.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure designs meet production requirements.
• Provide technical support to other departments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and project coordination in custom equipment or heavy machinery.
• Skills and Abilities:
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Basic understanding of FEA and ERP/MRP systems.
• Experience with mechanical design, including gears, drives, and hydraulics, is an asset.
• Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of materials.
• Knowledge of DFM/DFA and GD&T is preferred.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, suppliers, and team members.
