We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our supply chain team and help drive operational excellence.
Job Summary:
The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and supplies required for manufacturing operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining optimal inventory levels, reducing costs, and ensuring timely delivery of quality materials to meet production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and procure raw materials, components, and supplies from approved vendors.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support production while minimizing excess.
- Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure quality, cost-efficiency, and on-time delivery.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers in alignment with company goals.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure purchased parts meet technical specifications.
- Monitor market trends, identify new suppliers, and assess potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Process purchase orders in the ERP system and manage order confirmations, deliveries, and backorders.
- Resolve supplier issues, such as delays, shortages, or quality concerns, in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reports for audits and performance analysis.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- 2+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (preferably Microsoft D365) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of inventory management principles and supplier relationship management.
Preferred:
- Experience with lean manufacturing or just-in-time (JIT) purchasing strategies.
- Knowledge of mechanical or electrical components.
- Certification in supply chain (e.g., APICS, CPM, or CPSM).
