Buyer
Essential Job Functions:
• Run, review and action MRP purchasing recommendations.
• Release, expedite, defer or cancel purchase orders as needed.
• Maintain purchasing related supplier master and item master data in ERP system.
• Review open order reports, take action as needed.
• Manage purchasing Kanban system and cards.
• Create and distribute supplier scorecards. Review with suppliers as needed.
• Participate as a member of the Cost Reduction Team.
• Provide purchasing and project support to Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Accounts Payable and Sales departments as needed.
• Conduct supplier audits as needed.
• Participate as a member of the ABC Inventory Project – assist in improvements on lead times, terms, order quantities, stocking agreements, consignment, etc.
• Source components for new products.
• Monitor domestic and overseas inbound freight. Work with brokers or carriers as needed.
• Lead or assist on purchasing projects and initiatives, as required.
• Support and fill in for Supply Chain Manager or Purchasing Coordinator as needed.
• Strive for continuous improvement in such matters as on time delivery, cost, quality and customer service
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Supply Chain preferred or High School Diploma with minimum 5 yrs. experience in a Supply Chain role.
- Prior knowledge of ERP/MRP systems is preferred.
- MS Dynamics ( D365) applications proficiency
Skills and Specifications:
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
- Microsoft Office Suite and D365 a plus
- Good Basic math skills
- Must be team oriented
- Excellent communication skills
