ERP Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:
The ERP Specialist supports users of our Epicor ERP software by diagnosing, troubleshooting and documenting software and data issues. Supporting software users includes creating knowledge documentation, database queries, and reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond to user help requests to provide troubleshooting, guidance, and training.
- Communicate with users and peers with a compassionate customer-service mindset.
- Stay current with software updates through online training videos and webinars so that you can provide timely and accurate solutions to users.
- Create/modify end user procedures and IT knowledge documents.
- Create/modify database queries, report templates, and low-code UI customizations.
- Evaluate and escalate user issues to the IT Business Relationship Manager as needed.
- Enter support tickets with Epicor for issues requiring direct support from our software provider.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Complete understanding of generally accepted accounting principles; strong knowledge and application of cost accounting and standard cost systems. Competent keyboarding and proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Strong experience in implementation and post-implementation optimization of ERP systems (hardware and software) in a manufacturing environment with experience in EPICOR a plus.
EDUCATION:
- Degree/Diploma in: Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Engineering Technology, Computer Systems Technology
- 2+ years of experience using Epicor software.
EXPERIENCE:
- Effective communication, both verbal and writing.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience writing procedural documents (how to’s and flowcharts).
- Experience in customer/end-user support an asset.
- Experience with ERP software (Epicor, SAP, Oracle) an asset.
SPECIFIC SKILL ABILITY AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Able to work independently while balancing competing priorities.
- Customer-service mindset (patience, empathy, listening skills).
- Enthusiastic about continuous learning (staying up to date with the software).
- Knowledge of SSRS, JSON, C#, SQL.
- Knowledge of financial, manufacturing, sales, or logistics business processes.
