Manager, Supply Chain - Aerospace and Defense Industry!

This role is the point person for all material flow and production communications into and out of the C/A Design facility. This includes coordination and expediting of raw materials and of parts going to/from outside service providers. Collaboration is required with production scheduling team members for business units at the site as well as with central planning and forecasting teams, driving the facility to hit customer demand. This role also serves as the focal point for delivery commits, especially with fulfillment teams for the product lines. The role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing and lean concepts, in addition to influencing skills. This leader will be expected to embrace and exhibit our culture of honesty, integrity, and good citizenship. There is moderate autonomy within the role, and high levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes in terms of service, quality, and timeliness of objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strive toward a culture of proactive safety.

  • Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements.
  • Lead a cross functional team in support of meeting operational objectives in support of the financial performance for C/A Design.
  • Use planning systems to review demand and communicate shipping commitments to central fulfillment and customer teams. Understand Materials and Resource Planning (MRP) including supply/demand/lead time.
  • Monitor delinquency, inventory, and production to forecast. Work closely with Finance on inventory projections, and with Business Leaders on outputs and inputs. Work with Plant Leader to prepare materials for customers and other management meetings. Update data as needed.
  • Communicate with suppliers (internal and external), consulting with C/A Design administrators and with suppliers’ Customer Service representatives. Work with Outside Service Providers (OSP) to sending parts from site to other vendors and receiving parts returning to site. Provide short-term and long-term forecasts to suppliers and OSP, and manage their delivery metrics.
  • Lead material planning and purchasing team and provide leadership for Shipping & Receiving hourly team.
  • Act as a member of the site’s leadership team. Partner across functions to develop and execute strategic site goals. Engage in team development.
  • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Utilize understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.
  • Lead teams and projects with minimal resource requirements, moderate risk, and/or complexity. Communicate difficult concepts and may influence others’ opinions on topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, (OR a high school diploma / GED with 10 years of related manufacturing experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or supply chain.
  • Knowledge and/or certification in Lean and Six Sigma principles a plus.
  • Experience with MRP Systems (E2) is a plus.
  • Possesses good written/oral communication skills, as well as the ability to present his/her views in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
