Purchasing Assistant

We are currently in need of a Purchasing Assistant at our facility in Stoughton, Wisconsin capable of supporting a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is a Non-Union and hourly open position with periodic overtime. Primary Responsibilities

• Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs.
• Research potential vendors to find reliable and cost-effective suppliers.
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Update internal databases with order details, including dates, vendors, quantities, and discounts.
• Conduct market research to identify pricing trends and the best purchasing options.
• Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices and terms.
• Prepare cost analyses to determine the best purchasing decisions.
• Maintain updated records of invoices, contracts, and other important documents.
• Follow up with suppliers to confirm or modify orders as necessary.
• Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition and meet quality standards.
• Perform additional other assigned duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a task focused mentality.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

• Good understanding of supply chain procedures and procurement processes.
• Previous experience in the steel fabrication industry and familiarity with materials used in construction.
