The CNC Machinist Lead will be responsible for producing complex aluminum parts for the Aerospace and Defense industry in our new state of the art facility in Exeter NH! This is a critical role within the well-respected manufacturing group and requires a detailed mind set, a thorough understanding of the impact of machining a quality part and commitment to do whatever it takes to get the job done. This individual will be expected to embrace and exhibit our culture of honesty, integrity, and good corporate citizenship. This role is Friday, Saturday, Sunday on a 3/12 schedule that will also include a shift differential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strive towards a culture of proactive safety.
- Start to finish set-up and prove out of machined components to receive first piece acceptance while meeting required time constraints.
- Operate multiple CNC milling machines and perform in process inspection on production jobs.
- Detects and reports improper operation, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions.
- Detects and reports significant variances in job standards.
- Assist machinists as first point of contact for machined components.
- Assist with set ups.
- Help with staging process. (Making sure next job is ready to run at the machine)
- Assist in performing in process inspection at other machines.
- Participate in continuous improvement.
- Reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/EHS/Maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED).
- 3-5 years CNC experience.
- Strong knowledge in all aspects of producing top quality precision aluminum components.
- Horizontal, Vertical and/or 5-axis CNC machines preferred.
- Ability to work with internal drawings, travelers, set up sheets, proper fixturing, offset and tool setting, and prove-out of programs.
- Perform basic edits to programs on Fanuc controls.
- Demonstrated ability to solve highly technical problems.
