Lead Assembly
Key Performance Areas
Drives Business Results –
Monitor employees’ use of safety glasses, steel toe boots, and other required personal protective equipment. Monitor 5S / general housekeeping to encourage a safer working environment.
Perform periodic EHS inspections in accordance with Heico and other regulatory policies. Escalate all unsafe conditions so they can be promptly addressed.
Direct employees to build quality into the machine the first time. Use root cause analysis methodology for daily problem solving and implementing countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
Perform direct and indirect labor duties as required by the Supervisor.
Direct the flow of material to the production line.
Perform daily continuous improvement to improve shop floor processes and culture.
Assist in training team members in assembly or material distribution processes
Document build process and ensure correct work sequence is being followed. Periodically audit standard work.
Job Requirements
Experience and Education:
Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a heavy equipment production environment
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communication.
Technology: General knowledge of MS Outlook
Other Requirements:
Ability to work with and lead teams
Experience in Lean Manufacturing
Experience in a manufacturing environment; in depth knowledge of Heavy Equipment products and assembly processes.
Highly motivated, pro-active, self-starter.
Supervisory Responsibility – Oversees daily operations and specific improvement tasks for multiple product lines. No hiring, performance, disciplinary or termination responsibilities associated with this position.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work - This is a full-time position. Work hours are Monday thru Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Travel – No travel is expected for this position.
Work Environment - This position is stationed in a heavy equipment manufacturing environment. Products are assembled and tested in a progressive fashion on individual product lines. The product lines are made up of concrete floors, overhead cranes, tools, ladders/work platforms, carts, stand and material racks. Hand, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical tools are used to assemble machines with a high degree of accuracy. Machines and materials move throughout the facility floor and occasionally move in/out of the facility through overhead doors. Most of the assigned tasks are indoors but outdoor tasks are possible. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and moving mechanical parts.
