Senior Applications Engineer

SUMMARY:

As the Senior Applications Engineer will be a lead technical resource for our valued customer base as it relates to the design and implementation of our various, highly technical product offerings in the thermal design space. This position is a key business partner within the Wakefield Thermal sales and engineering team and requires a technically savvy individual with the ability to build sound and trusting relationships. The individual contributor will be expected to embrace and exhibit our culture of honesty, integrity, and good corporate citizenship.

• Provide expert input into initial and ongoing product development by interfacing with internal groups, channel partners and external customers.
• Offers technical guidance and applications assistance to a diverse customer base from project pre-design, specifications, and installation.
• Understand the relationship between key technical applications metrics and Wakefield Thermal KPI’s and overall business performance.
• Participate in regular project status meetings and provide clear and quantifiable data for key leadership to make educated, impactful, and concise decisions.
• Track progress and create solid, meaningful, and tangible feedback loops.
• Ownership of the overall success of the technical application of Wakefield thermals design and implementation.
• Maintain professional business relationship with targeted accounts.
• 50% domestic travel required.

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, advanced degree highly desirable.
• 10 + year’s progressive work experience in a similar role (applications engineering) within the thermal design space.

• Advanced SolidWorks skills to include part/assembly modeling and drawing creation

(Thermal simulation a plus)
