Material Handler - 1st shift
SUMMARY:
Performs the physical and administrative tasks involved in the storing and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. This role is responsible for inventory control and organization. This role entails lifting heavy items and may operate various material handling devices.
DESCRIPTION:
- Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
- Participates in routing, counting and inspecting items while moving parts to next work center.
- Responsible for inventory control, managing and monitoring inventory levels and maintaining an organized inventory area.
- Utilizes computerized or automated systems to accomplish tasks.
- Responsible for cleanliness of his/her own work area and the general housekeeping of the Company.
- Utilizes work orders and “Bills of Material” that move the product.
- Count and verify movement of product through multiple work centers.
- Work within multiple production areas to maintain a constant flow of product
- Flexible to work in other departments as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
- General computer knowledge.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Microsoft AX, a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and sit. The employee will use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and to use a computer keyboard with mouse for long periods of time. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job in the Plant or Warehouse, the employee is exposed to noise and aluminum particles. The noise level is usually moderate, but hearing protection may be required in designated areas. The employee is required to wear safety glasses when in the plant.
Conditions in remote locations vary, depending on the job requirements.
