.The Position (Summary):
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator will be responsible for independently executing shipping and receiving operations, ensuring the accurate, timely, and complaint movement of merchandise to be returned to suppliers or delivered to customers.
Minimum Essential Requirements:
- Independently verify, document, and maintain detailed records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment
- Conduct thorough comparisons of identifying information and counts, weights, or measurements of items on incoming and outgoing shipments by verifying information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Intermediate use of the company’s ERP System to make all required shipping and receiving transactions accurately and efficiently
- Accurately affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment
- Build wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers accurately and efficiently
- Insert items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding
- Nail covers on wooden crates and bind containers with metal or poly banding, using strapping tools
- Record and post accurate weight, dimensions, and box type
- Route incoming items to the appropriate departments
- Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet current company specifications prior to release
- Maintain inventory accuracy of shipping materials and supplies with minimal supervision
- Effectively operate overhead crane, forklift/tow motor, pallet jack or hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
- Consistently perform all essential duties and responsibilities in a safe manner according to the standard set by the company
- Ensure visitors (truck drivers, delivery personnel, etc.) are issued safety vests, glasses, visitor badges, and safety footwear
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading a tape measure and operating all types of pneumatic tools
- Maintain a clean driving record to deliver parts to our outside vendors operating the company vehicle
- Exhibit flexibility and reliability by working overtime as operational demands require
Preferred Key Requirements:
- Proficient experience with Inventory Systems
- Working knowledge of international shipping requirements and documentation
- Proficient experience reading and interpreting blueprints
- Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weight proportions and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra
- Ability to accurately interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Experience and Education:
- Experience: 1-5 years’ experience with Shipping and Receiving in a manufacturing environment
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; or relevant job-specific experience
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communication
Technology:
- Intermediate use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Position will require utilization of Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office Suite
Travel Requirements:
Less than 5%
