Material Coordinator

Shred – Tech Houston, TX (Onsite) Full-Time

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled Material Coordinator to join our warehouse team. The Material Coordinator will be responsible for performing all inbound receiving functions, outbound shipping operations, and warehouse tasks. This role requires proficiency in using an ERP system for daily operations and familiarity with RF scanners. The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts and reach trucks, packing shipments, preparing loads for LTL (Less Than Truckload) and FTL (Full Truckload) shipments, and unloading trailers. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders or invoices.
  • Utilize ERP system and RF scanners to accurately record receipt of materials and update inventory records.
  • Organize and store received materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Prepare materials for outbound shipments, including picking, packing, and labeling items according to shipping requirements.
  • Operate forklifts and reach trucks to move materials throughout the warehouse safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials.
  • Prepare LTL and FTL shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with shipping regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and quality standards at all times.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts and participate in periodic physical inventory counts as required.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders and shipments.

  

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:    

  • High school diploma

Experience: 

  • Proven experience as a Material Coordinator or similar role in a warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems for inventory management and RF scanners for data entry.
  • Valid certification to operate forklifts and reach trucks; experience in safe operation of material handling equipment.

Specific Skill Ability and Knowledge:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials as needed, adhering to proper lifting techniques.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks such as picking, packing, and labeling.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
