The CNC Programmer will be responsible for creating and documenting an efficient and accurate CNC machining process to meet internal and customer requirements of precision turned components for the Aerospace and Defense industries. This individual will be expected to embrace and exhibit our culture of honesty, integrity, and good corporate citizenship. This is a critical role within the manufacturing team and requires a strict attention to detail as the ability to work in a team environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Strive towards a culture of proactive safety.
• Review customer and internal drawings to fully understand the requirements and tolerances associated with each necessary component to create a proper machining approach.
• Design all necessary workholding and custom tooling in Solidworks to support the CNC machining process.
• Create accurate CNC programs and associated setup documentation for all required operations including 2 axis turning, mill turn and simultaneous 4 axis millturn as required.
• Create manufacturing drawings for all custom tooling using Solidworks for use by outside tooling vendors.
• Create efficient and accurate CNC programs and associated setup documentation using Solidwork/Camworks for all CNC operations required to create compliant components.
• Properly select tooling, tool holders, and workholding for efficient processing of workpiece and efficiency of setups.
• Create in-process inspection reports for critical features on each CNC operations.
• Maintain all NC code and associated documentation in Cimco CNC database.
• Support CNC Machining during setup and production process for all required CNC program updates
• Collaborate with other CNC Programmers to develop best practices and innovative approaches to complex machining challenges.
• Collaborate with other technical disciplines such as Design Engineering, Quality Control to ensure each project is a success

EXPERIENCE:

• CNC Lathe Programming (Camworks preferred)
• CNC Mill-Turn Programming (Camworks preferred)
• Mill-Turn Setup (Mazak experience preferred)
• Experience machining broad range of materials including Aluminum, Stainless, Brass
• Solidworks
• Microsoft Office
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Ability to work in team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to solve highly technical problems
