Delivery Driver - Temporary Assignment

The temporary Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting materials between two factories (Dover NH & Exeter NH) and local vendors within the Southern NH and Northern MA region. The driver will uphold a professional demeanor at all times while interfacing with vendors and customers and will also adhere to all best safety practices of the road. When not delivering, the driver will provide back up to the Shipping and Receiving department. This individual will be expected to embrace and exhibit our culture of honesty, integrity, and good corporate citizenship. This role is a 3-6 month temporary assignment.

MAIN RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Strive towards a culture of proactive safety.
• Drive and operate box truck.
• Follow instructions; locate and read location and road maps.
• Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed.
• Load and unload cargo.
• Comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times.
• Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle inspection reports.
• Read and interpret maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route
• Operate assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
• Keep the assigned vehicle(s) clean inside and outside.
• Provide a communication link with reporting manager.
• May be required to load/unload truck, per request.
• Fuel assigned vehicle, as instructed & authorized.
• Maintain courteous & professional manner w/all 3rd parties, including, but not limited to, customers & vendors.
• When not driving, you will work in the shipping/receiving department, as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Adhere to all traffic laws/ DOT regulations/ driving knowledge
• Pallet jack experience required; forklift certification preferred
• Ability to lift 25 pounds repeatedly throughout day
• Able to pass random drug tests
• Clean driving record
• No DUI/DWI convictions in the past seven years
• Listening and verbal communication skills
• Dependability
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least six months of OTR experience
• Positive demeanor and team player attitude
