Warehouse Lead
SUMMARY:
The warehouse Team Lead will perform a variety of repetitive operations within the packing department. They will be responsible for leading and monitoring the team, ensuring accurate and on-time order fulfillment along with inspection of finished product prior to shipping. Actively promotes teamwork atmosphere and supports team development. The right candidate will be result driven and motivated to grow.
PACKING RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 100% inspects work pieces for cosmetic appearance and obvious non-conformities.
- Uses picks, files and chisels to remove excess metal.
- Read and interpret work instructions correctly.
- Defines area for part marking and marks if applicable.
- Wrap work pieces in appropriate wrapping materials.
- Place wrapped parts in shipping containers
- Responsible for cleanliness of work area and the general housekeeping of the Company.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under general supervision oversees and monitors production of department employees to ensure quality, productivity and safety.
- Assigning tasks such as picking, packing inspecting or wrapping.
- Assists in the training of new employees and answers questions regarding work standards and procedures.
- Coach team members on best practices and performance improvement.
- Work with warehouse manager with implementing new processes or changes from management
- Responsible for monitoring packaging inventory.
- Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of work area and the general housekeeping of the Company.
- Always ensure safety rules (PPE, Forklift rules, proper lifting)
- Reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management.
- Keeps the supervisor informed of broken or damaged tooling that needs to be replaced.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrate strong work ethic, punctuality, and teamwork
- Must be able to lift and/or move 25 pounds.
- Must be able to read blueprints
- Forklift Experience preferred; or willingness to train
- Ability to lead without formal authority
- Experience with ERP Systems a plus (AX preferred)
- High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED).
- 1-2 years of related experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and sit. The employee will use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and to use a computer keyboard with mouse for long periods of time. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job in the Plant or Warehouse, the employee is exposed to noise and aluminum particles. The noise level is usually moderate, but hearing protection may be required in designated areas. The employee is required to wear safety glasses when in the plant.
