Job Description

Drives Business Results –

  • Assist customers in selecting/ordering equipment and components which suit their business needs.
  • Develop new business strategies; utilizing market data, competitor strength/weakness analysis, and technology research.
  • Demonstrate new and used equipment to customer.
  • Achieve sales and activity goals set forth by the General Manager
  • Maintain overall knowledge of product features and benefits of all equipment sold by ARDCO
  • Prepare complete and accurate paperwork for the sale and rental of equipment in accordance with established dealership policies.
  • Attend sales and training meetings.
  • Study equipment specifications to improve knowledge of product performance and application continually.
  • Collect accurate and complete financial data on customers when necessary.
  • Maintain current knowledge of financing/warranty/service options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods.
  • Maintain current knowledge of used equipment values and ability to evaluate properly for trading purposes.

Job Requirements

Experience and Education:

  • Experience: 3+ years sales experience in industrial solutions.
  • Education: Associate degree business or sales; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communication.
  • Mathematical Skills:  Ability to calculate amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
  • Language Skills:  Ability to speak effectively before customers.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Supervisory Responsibility - This position has no direct reports.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work - This is a full-time position. Typical work hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel - This position may require occasional travel, including travel outside the local area and overnight.

Geographic Location - The ideal candidate would reside in Acadiana region.

Work Environment - The position operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, iPads, phones, copiers and filing cabinets.  The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and moving mechanical parts.
