Job Description

The Position

This position is a member of the finance department.  The Business Analyst will report directly to the VP Finance.  This position will be responsible for analyzing financial and operational data by collecting data, developing actionable information, and creating appropriate models for decision support.  Improve financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends by utilizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 System and Microsoft Power Stack; recommending actions to leadership and management.  Assist with annual and quarterly forecasting.

Job Description  

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Financial Report Writing
    • Development and maintenance of new financial reporting to drive the organization’s goals and objectives forward, including but not limited to:
      • Strategic Business Unit Income Statement
  • Product Line Analyses, including Unit and Pricing reporting
  • Cost analysis, including Unit Cost Breakdown
      • Orders and Backlog
    • Development of new tools and processes to support both business-wide and business segment Budgets and periodic reporting against Budgets
    • Preparation of Commission Plan statements and development of related KPI to ensure plan alignment in driving revenue and increasing customer satisfaction
    • Accurate and timely preparation of monthly Balance Sheet, Income Statement & Statement of Cash Flows

  • Operational Report Writing
    • Development and maintenance of new operational reporting to drive the organization’s goals and objectives forward, including but not limited to:
      • Shop Floor Utilization
      • Machine shop efficiency
      • Engineering time reporting
      • PSI (Purchasing, Selling & Inventory) reporting and analysis, including sell-out data and historical trends

  • Business Process Development
    • Work with stakeholders (Leadership Team and Managers) to create new and innovative ways to streamline business processes
    • Change existing and build new Dynamics 365 ERP workflows
    • Fully leverage Microsoft SharePoint and Power Automate (formerly Flow)
    • Utilize the above and other new and novel methods to maintain efficient and effective communications and handoffs between functional teams
    • Develop documentation and training plans for all reporting and workflows developed

Job Requirements    

 Education

  • Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting or Technology with 2+ years of applied experience; OR associate degree with more than 5 years of applied experience

Skills & Relevant Work Experience

  • Data driven personality with strong interpersonal skills and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to work well with others in a highly collaborative environment
  • Core competencies to include Financial Modeling and Financial Statement Analysis, with a broad IT domain experience desired in Process Management and Applications Development
  • Flexible self-starter, able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented
  • Highly motivated with an ability to work in a dynamic team environment
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Microsoft Power Stack (Power BI, Power Automate and SharePoint)
