Job Description

SUMMARY:

FULL TIME- 2nd Shift CNC Set-up / Operator will have experience in 3 axis machining in a prototype environment, 4 and 5 axis machining experience is preferred but not required. Fast paced and dynamic shop environment demands an independent thinker and problem solver with excellent attention to detail and team player mentality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set- up and prove out NC programs on CNC machining centers including but not limited to verticals, horizontals and 5-axis.
• Operate CNC machine as needed.
• Maintain control and compliance of machined geometry through adjustment of work offset and tool offset as required.
• Understand and complete all documentation as required.
• Work with Manufacturing and Quality personnel to enhance processes and improve productivity.
• Responsible for cleanliness of his/her own work area, machining center and general housekeeping.
• Assist other team members as needed.
• Work with Expeditor as required to maximize throughput and meet Customer demand.
• Other duties may be assigned, as needed

EXPERIENCE: 

• Must have relevant CNC experience.
• Aerospace and defense machining of vacuum and dip brazed aluminum components a plus
• Familiarity various CNC controls including Fanuc, Mori Mapps and Siemens
• Mechanical background and critical thinker
• Attention to detail required
• Manufacturing Industry experience required
• Training for our products will be provided

Candidate must be local and U.S Citizenship is required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Continuous mental and visual attention is required.  Requires constant alertness or activity.  Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.   The employee is frequently required to stand and occasionally required to walk, sit, kneel, crouch, or crawl.   The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to chemicals and airborne particles.  The noise levels are not excessive but hearing protection may be required when performing certain tasks.  The employee is required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection and safety shoes.
