Wakefield-Vette is growing and the future is bright, were a supplier of extruded and fabricated aluminum parts. Currently we have an opportunity for a detailed oriented CNC Operator, in our Withee facility. We offer competitive pay along with shift differential and a comprehensive benefits package. SUMMARY:
Program, set up, operate, or tend milling or planning machines to mill, plane shape, groove, or profile metal work pieces.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Study blueprints, layouts, sketches, or work orders to assess part specifications and to determine tooling instructions, tools and materials needed, and sequences of operations.
Inspect parts to ensure they conform to specifications, using measuring instruments such as microscopes, gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
Perform secondary operations as defined by traveler, using various machines/tools such as files drill presses and sanders.
Ensure quality of parts before forwarding them to next operation/process.
Check parts to In Process drawings.
Record production data.
Responsible for cleanliness of his/her own work area and the general housekeeping of the Company.
Reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management.
Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
1 3 years experience as a CNC operator/ or graduate from a Machining Technology program.
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Possess good written/oral communications skills.
The ability to use micrometers, calipers, height gauges and dial indicators.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel and control objects or tools. The employee is regularly required to stand and occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to airborne particles and chemicals. The noise level is usually very loud. The employee is required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, gloves, and safety shoes.
