The Position

The Corporate Payroll Business Partner will be directly responsible for the corporate payroll processing, corporate and group payroll tax and compliance, all central payroll processing functions, and administration of the UltiPro payroll system. The Corporate Payroll Business Partner will directly support platform payroll positions while auditing current payroll practices, implementing standards, policies, and best practices for the companys multi-state payrolls. This role is indirectly responsible for payroll functions across North America.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Process the corporate payroll on a semi-monthly basis for three FEINs

  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions using UltiPro

  • Maintain enterprise wide set up tables including but not limited to earnings, general ledger, taxes tax jurisdictions, payroll calendars, pay groups, locations, distribution centers and wage garnishment payees

  • Update SUI tax rates

  • Provide assistance with processing cross company/cross platform transfers

  • Troubleshoot interface issues including direct deposit and positive pay files as well as benefit carrier connections

  • Ownership of year end tasks such as maintaining holiday schedule, resetting year end for all pay groups, extending pay calendars and processing finalizing W-2s

  • Generate, transmit and produce W-2s through UltiPro Print Services

  • Responsible for all year end audit reports and coordinating any adjustments

  • Runs point on annual 401k audit, providing payroll data as needed

  • Responsible for training new and existing payroll team members across the enterprise; creates and maintains all associated training materials

  • Ensure systems are set-up and updated to reflect the current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick, and vacation time

  • Manage the routine preparation of relevant reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year end reports

  • Administer all corporate plans according to plan documents and review and approve transactions, deposits, and funding as needed

  • Routinely review payroll functions across the enterprise for audit and provide best practice recommendations

  • Communicate effectively with Finance and Human Resources to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing

  • Ensure all UltiPro related system enhancements are sufficiently tested and communicated

  • Administer Concur Electronic Expense Reporting System, including user set-up, maintenance, and trouble shooting

  • Support Mergers Acquisitions activity by running point on payroll integration

  • Responsible for expat tax equalization setup

Job Requirements

Experience and Education

  • 4-year degree in Business or another related field

  • Multiple years of related payroll experience using an automated payroll vendor; such as UltiPro

  • Experience managing multi-location payrolls

  • Experience with payroll tax compliance, policies, and procedures

  • Knowledge of related federal, states, and local laws and regulations

  • Experience with compensation and wage structure, and exposure to benefits administration

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

  • Familiarity with UltiPro
