Job Description

Heico is seeking an Information System Specialist to join our team and support the management of an EHSS Management Information System (MIS) on a global company-wide level at our 27501 Bella Vista Parkway, Warrenville, IL 60555 office. The implementation of the software enhances the monitoring and driving of EHS compliance and performance across all sites in a complex and globally diversified organization. Heico has operated an existing EHS MIS for eight years and has recently launched a program to replace it with one of the premier systems available in our industry today. This provides a unique opportunity for the EHS MIS Specialist to learn an advanced system from the ground up with the added benefit of working in an experienced and proven system environment. The EHS MIS Specialist will assist senior management in implementing the EHS MIS and serve as the primary system administrator after implementation. This position will report directly to the Vice President of EHSS, but will maintain a strong customer relationship with the EHSS organization from the Corporate Department through site-level EHSS team members.


Job Description



  • Perform day-to-day maintenance of the EHS MIS system, including identifying and troubleshooting application issues and escalating issues to software consultants/provider as needed

  • Assist with future application design/configuration/testing and enhancement request feasibility assessments. Develop and maintain system documentation.

  • Coach and mentor team members and act as a subject matter expert

  • Build and administer system reports and dashboards based on departmental requirements

  • Communicate with leadership regarding system maintenance status and upkeep

  • Administer user access and maintain user access policies

  • Coordinate and facilitate MIS system user training

  • Legacy data collection, cleansing and importing (extract, transform and load): gather legacy data from different sources, transform data into accepted format and work with vendor to import data into the new MIS system

  • Monitor scheduled file imports and report synchronization issues in a timely manner.

  • Create and distribute user communications, related to new system functionality and enhancements

  • Obtain user feedback and track system enhancement/change requests

  • Develop and maintain internal customer relationships to enhance the competence and performance of individual system users

  • Other duties and assignments necessary to support the implementation of other ongoing system activities outside the MIS software including but not limited to document control, department communications, maintain regulatory update services, and regulatory/technical service to sites as needed


Job Requirements


  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other technology-related fields. nbsp;nbsp;Significant information technology experience and education/training can be considered equivalent to an IT Bachelors degree

  • 5+ years of experience in software system application support

  • Experience configuring or implementing commercial off-the-shelf software is a plus

  • Experience configuring or implementing EHS software such as VelocityEHS, Intelex, Gensuite, EtQ, Enablon, EHS Insight, Rivo consider a significant plus

  • Experience in the EHS sciences or EHS regulatory compliance systems is a plus, but not a requirement

  • Strong MS Office skills required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including technical documentation

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on-schedule

  • Attitude of ownership, ability to self-start, and carry work through to completion

  • Proven ability to communicate technical issues/solutions to a non-technical audience

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically

  • Effectively facilitate conflict resolutions with internal customers and MIS provider
