Position:ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN I
Reports To: PTL Wire Cable Group
Location/Department: Engineering (Department No. 7161)

The Position
This position is a member of the Engineering Department. The Electrical Technician (Wire Cable) will report directly to the Project Team Leader (PTL).

Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
Design new products or re-design existing products with supervision. Electrical schematics, control cabinets, wiring diagrams, layouts, etc.
oUtilize the most current design techniques and tools.
oDesigns and BOMs must be accurate.
oDesign projects must be done in a timely manner.
oDesign within the specifications for the product being mindful of cost, manufacturability, reliability and service requirements.
Assist in commissioning and debug of products.
oAssure product is as designed.
oAssure proper documentation has been recorded.
Work in a team environment.
oActive participant in team meetings, design reviews, machine reviews, kick-off meetings.
oInteract with other departments, including Manufacturing, TSS, Sales and Purchasing.

Job Requirements

Education
Associates degree or relevant experience with machine design or electrician experience.

Skills Relevant Work Experience
Knowledgeable in PLCs, AC and DC drives, motion controls and operator interface units is a plus but not required.
Computer skills and AutoCAD preferred.

Travel requirements: up to 25
