Overview:

 

Wakefield Vette is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and well-versed IT Specialist to support its growing Raleigh, NC manufacturing facility. The main focus of this role is to build, maintain, and troubleshoot the company IT infrastructure delivering mission critical applications and data. Implement Department of Defense requirements, SP 800-171, and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) controls within our environments.  Managing/maintaining and navigating cyber security demands such as CMMC - NIST-ITAR for our valuable customers while ensuring the highest levels of availability and security is also a top priority. Support of business leaders and end users across all levels of the operation round out the demands of this role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor all installed computer systems, server, storage, network and telephony infrastructure on premise and cloud based
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain network operating systems, application software, system management tools and systems integrations
  • Applying CMMC - NIST - ITAR Cybersecurity framework to the organization to establish effective and repeatable process for improving data security.
  • User environment management, including desktops/laptops, profile management, software delivery, etc.
  • Respond to the needs and questions of IT users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs
  • Provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level IT user support
  • Make recommendations regarding hardware and software acquisitions
  • Maintain, test, and improve backup and disaster recovery procedures
  • Vendor management and contract negotiation
  • Create documentation concerning IT systems and IT procedures
  • Must be a champion for pushing IT standards, procedures, policies, and best practices
  • Develop and communicate standards of use, operations and security of network, personal computers, and data
  • Communicate with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware, and operations problems
  • Consult with departments managers to develop system solutions consistent with organizational objectives
  • Must be very proactive in understanding and staying up-to-date on the current projects in progress, projects in pipeline and operational issues.

 

Minimum Experience:

  • Degree in Information Technology (IT) or comparable degree
  • 8+ years operational experience in IT Infrastructure (network, server, DB, storage administration)
  • Solid Information Security background, including information and cyber security assessment, risk analysis, privacy, data protection, regulatory frameworks, as well as risk and security architecture and demonstrated experience in leading cyber incident response
  • Proven experience with security industry standards and direct experience and exposure to CMMC – NIST – ITAR Cybersecurity Framework
  • Solid working knowledge in
    • Microsoft products (Microsoft certified preferred)

    • Veam Software
    • Avaya IP phone system
    • Mobile Device Management
  • Strong knowledge of information security threats, vulnerability management, and countermeasures and associated operational best practices
  • IT security certification preferred
  • Service oriented approach in IT (ITIL certified is an advantage)
  • Customer orientation (e.g. short response times, appropriate communication and continuous information flow, adequate solutions)
  • Good analytical, communication and presentation skills
