Davis Wire is currently seeking an Infrastructure Specialist to join our team in Irwindale, California.

The Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for supporting several business sites hardware and networking needs. This job provides a wide range of IT support to end users and businesses.

The Infrastructure Specialist will be responsible for the following:

  • Support and participation of planning and strategic goals for systems and applications
  • Ability to troubleshoot simple and complex issues related to server, workstation, application, or network related problems
  • Expert in Windows Servers (2008, 2012, 2016) in a virtual environment (VMware, high availability)
  • SQL Server experience with High Availability configurations
  • SAN storage (HPE, Dell) and NAS experience
  • Backup repositories (Veeam, Synology, offsite backups) and disaster recovery
  • Administering a Layer 3 and Layer 2 switching (HP, Aruba, Cisco)
  • Manage firewalls (Meraki, Sonicwall)
  • Manage VPN access and network connectivity (MPLS, Site to site VPN, ISP)
  • Wireless connectivity for users and production floor scanners (Meraki, Aruba)
  • Use of monitoring tools (PRTG) to ensure performance and uptime
  • Active Directory management, design, and maintenance (including but not limited to DNS, DHCP, AD, Group Policies)
  • Extensive knowledge of Office 365 and Azure AD
  • Understanding of VOIP systems (Mitel, Univerge)
  • Participate in negotiations with vendors and contractors for hardware/software
  • Deploy workstations, servers, printers, scanners, mobile devices, etc
  • Mobile Device Management experience
  • Exhibit empathy in relations with end-users
  • Use active listening
  • Assist with updating and maintaining documentation, including runbooks, user guides, and asset inventory

Education and/or experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, or a related field. Will consider commensurate work experience in lieu of a degree.

Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions and percentages. 

Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems and resolving customers issues.
