.The Position (Summary):
The General Accounting Analyst 1 will coordinate all activities related to the monthly Financial Statement Close Process, including establishing the schedule, and monitoring adherence to all required tasks. In addition, preparation of certain key monthly reports and information for Month Management Business reviews will be a key task. This individual is also responsible for the account reconciliation process, and on a quarterly basis prepare reports for Parent Company submission.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the financial statement close process, including:
- Preparation and submission of general journal entries
- Maintenance of the journal entry log
- Preliminary financial statement review
- Preparation of Management Business Review (MBR) data on selected items
- Prepare and manage the account reconciliation process to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Prepare a variety of month-end management reports
- Support quarterly and year-end corporate reporting, including:
- Key balance sheet flux analysis (Quarterly)
- Tax data submissions (Annual)
- Sales Tax Return data preparation (Quarterly)
- Other items upon request
- Serve as primary back-up for Cash Application and Customer Account follow up activities
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards as requested
- Perform other special analyses as requested
Key Requirements:
- Proficient knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong data collection and analysis skills
- Strong organization skills
- Accurately follow instructions
- Team player
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Receptive to feedback
Experience and Education:
- Experience: 3-5 years’ experience with strong cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration combined with relevant job specific experience
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communication
Technology:
- ERP/MRP (Microsoft D365) and Business Intelligence (Power BI) desired
- Position will require daily utilization of Microsoft Teams, D365, and Microsoft Office Suite
