Compression Operator Level 1

•        Perform all material changes for the department.

•        Maintain proper flow of material to all areas so that production is not interrupted. 

•        Document lot numbers for all raw materials.

•        Must know and follow all plant, departmental and job safety rules.

•        Must know, understand and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of and follow all applicable safe operating procedures and rules including housekeeping requirements.

•        Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements necessary for this skill or job area.

Pay Rate $19-20/hour

•        Assist operators by collecting totes that have completed production. 

•        Follow wheelabrator process sheets and dump parts into Wheelabrator and clean parts with air hose.

•        Keep work areas neat and organized.

•        Collect parts at presses, bring back to work station. Weigh count and enter results into MAPICS to assure accurate inventory posting.

•        Report closed MO’s to Warehouse Supervisor.

•        Complete “move” cards for operators.

•        Clean and refill wheelabrator systems as needed.

•        Assemble boxes for all jobs currently running in the department.

•        Weight count parts, wrap, label, and move finish product to staging or shipping area.

•        Enter production data into the computer.

•        Keep work area neat and organized.

•        Provide scheduling support as required.

•        Train new material handlers all the duties involved in handling material needs.

•        Plan and organize work for other material handlers.

•        Willing to pitch in and complete additional duties as assigned, such as work in other departments as needed.
