Davis Wire, Kent is a manufacturing mill located off 80th Ave S in Kent, WA specializing in a producing a wide range of wire products. We have a 24-hour operation working over three shifts with voluntary shift selection whenever possible although we are specifically targeting swing and graveyard shift although there are limited day shifts available. This facility is part of Teamsters Local Union and membership in the union is required. Currently operating 12 days on, 2 days off (mandatory overtime every other weekend). We offer full benefit options for yourself and your family after eligiblity periodincluding medical, dental, vision, health or dependent savings account options, employee assistance program (mental health benefits), basic and voluntary life and add coverage, pension, 401k, paid holidays, sick time and vacation time. Weekly full-time pay starts at 14/hr and increases to a minimum of 17/hr after becoming fully trained/qualified on your assigned machine set.

The Position


Overall Responsibilities and Work Environment:

This position is responsible for following basic procedures to set up, adjust, and operate assigned machines and auxiliary equipment to produce wire and wire products. The environment is a mill/production warehouse located off 80th Ave S in Kent, WA.

1st shift 7:00am-3:30pm

2nd shift 3:00pm-11:30pm

3rd shift 11:00pm-7:30am


Job Responsibilities:

Read, understand and follow production schedule.

Interpret and follow basic written instructions, drawings, and documents.

Perform setups on assigned machine(s).

Detect and report faulty processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

Maintain proper quality specifications.

Maintains standard housekeeping standards.

Observes all safety rules including reporting of all industrial accidents and any unsafe conditions.

Communicate with and follow verbal instruction from foremen, management, and co-workers in a team environment.

Maintain machines, time requirements and quality standards on a consistent basis.

Ability to keep reliable attendance and punctuality.

Job Requirements



Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Learn basic to complex machine operation and production processes.

Safely use various tools and precision equipment with necessary fine and gross motor function.

Read, write, and understand written instructions, drawings, and documents in English.nbsp;

Perform physical work, including lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds, pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds.

Stand and walk constantly, with frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing stairs.

Work in an indoor un-heated/cooled warehouse environment and wear all required personal protective equipment.


Education and Background:

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Drug free work environment. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

No experience necessary; willing to train a motivated candidate.

Previous experience in mill environments, production or warehouse jobs, construction, heavy equipment, machinery or automotive environments a plus
